I think I just lied to Paula...my apologies ole gal! Still having to use the library which is frustrating because I don't get a lot of time and I can't upload photos to show you my new stuff. Yes, still doing the rampage, mostly to keep from being so damned depressed.
So what's new on the creative front? Hey, I'm having a great time at my Saturday art class. Learning to do stained glass. Right now I seem to be going through a tea-light candle phase, so naturally my first stained glass pieces are little candle holders for my tea-lights. I simply love them, especially when I come in after a hard day's work, grab a bite to eat, and light the candles. The light shining through the different colored glass casts a warm glow on the walls. So far, getting into the holiday spirit, I've made one each in a deep red, holiday green, and warm amber. I'm currently working on a blue one which will be finished next week.
On the wood-working front, I've built a narrow cabinet for canned veggies/soups, as I needed room in the regular cabinets for the plastic containers which were in a bin next do the door. Finally got them sorted and matched with tops and sent the left-overs packing! The doors for the cabinets will be of translucent lexan material (used for fluorescent light fixtures) set into a wooden frame. I've also designed and built a proto of a small end table made from three pieces of 1"x12" lumber and a square dowel. I used my Dremel tool (the most fun tool ever!!) to trim around the edges of the top and bottom to make it look more finished. Hard to describe what I'm doing...I'd love for you to see the pieces instead. But I am taking photos of all this stuff, so whenever I get back online I can throw them up for your critique.
Can't believe I actually managed to write something here before getting kicked off-line! Guess I'd better not push my luck for today. If nothing else, this has certainly helped my typing speed...forget about the spelling!!
So, until next time...
Stay Creative!

the whole library thing reminds me of when I spent one winter in MN after having left arizona to 'find myself' (and ended up in vermont..and becoming an artist). anyhow. i didn't have a computer and would drive to like three different libraries in one day just to have enough computer time to get everything done.
anyhow, great to read your upbeat post! glass is such a beautiful medium, good for you for taking that class!
looking out for your pics! hang in there!!!!
::eagerly waiting for photos::
It's not very fun, is it, Paula? Yes, I'm loving working the the glass. Finished up a blue tea-light holder today...they are just so beautiful (I'm so modest!!). Thanks for your encouragement...I'm trying to hang tight and remain upbeat. Ain't easy sometimes...
Hey, Darcy!! Please don't hold your breath! Thanks for visiting, though!
