The boards waited patiently, leaning up against the ottoman like a group of teens hanging out on the corner(see photo on sidebar). My toys (tools of the trade)lay idle. But the rampage had begun, as the sawdust pile on the carpet could attest. After nearly 10 years, it's good to grip the handle of my trusty saw again, good to hear the sound of it ripping through the wood and to smell the scent of wood shavings. My first project: a small storage unit for the equally small bathroom at the end of the hall. The boards were cut and ready to assemble. And now...I've finally finished building the storage unit and I've got to say I'm pleased with the results so far. Next, will be to paint and decorate it, but I just had to try it out last night. Finishing this first project has given me the incentive to move on to the next one. Just not sure which one I want to tackle next!

Where this burst of creative energy came from I've no idea. Nor do I care to know. It's really not important. Whether the stars are in a particular alignment, or the moon is in my house of creativity, matters little to me. What is important is that I am having this burst of creativity. Ideas flood my mind from every direction, ideas for painting, writing, photographing, building. It's all I can do to make myself go to work in the mornings. I'd much rather stay home and give myself completely over to this wonderful madness. Perhaps one day I'll get the courage to do just that, eh? Meanwhile, I'll just keep tumbling along toward the next project.

I would say thats quite a nice burst. Your enthusiasm is good to be around, it's great when it hits, and great to see in others.
tell us a little bit about your workspace eh?
ps
hey thanks stella for linking to my art site!
Great work! Too bad you have to paint it, there's something beautiful about the "naked" wood!
Thanks, Paula. I enjoy encouraging others to use their creative talents. Glad you don't mind the site link. I think your art is awesome!
Ha, ha, my workspace? You want to know about my living room floor? I have to vaccuum alot...
Thanks, RMW! Well, you know, I could stain it or just seal it naked. I really don't like to paint 'real' wood. I usually like to use a stain for color and to bring out the grain patterns.
